Ana Gloria's story

Mrs. Ana Gloria is a member of the Las Orquídeas community bank. She lives at Jr. Independencia Nº 406 in the Tarapoto district of the San Martin department. She is 41 and lives with her husband and two children.

With 300 soles and encouragement from her partner, Ana Gloria started a shoe repair business in the center of the city. She works there, repairing and refurbishing shoes.

She still runs the business and works out of a rented building, where she tends to her clients daily. With a loan of 2,000 soles Ana Gloria will invest in insoles and soles for shoes, plus a second-hand sewing machine and thread, needles, and scissors. She'll repay the loan in six months.

Ana Gloria feels better now than when she first started the business. She's more confident when she offers her services and also more reliable and responsible in her repayments.

Ana Gloria would like to thank Manuela Ramos for helping her grow as an entrepreneur and as a woman.
