Kady's Group's story

This banc villageois has been created on December 13, 2011. It is composed of women from the same village who have joined the program in order to improve the profitability of their vending business. The group meetings always take place in a friendly atmosphere.

Ms. Kady, 38 years old (the one on the far right raising her right hand in the photo) is the star borrower of the group. She is married, has three children, and works selling food products. With her loan, she plans to buy two 15-kg [33 lbs] pails of peanut paste at 12,000 West African francs each; two bags of sugar at 22,500 francs each; tea for 14,000 francs; and palm oil for 55,000 francs. She will also cover transportation costs of 9,000 francs in order to resell her wares at retail prices in her neighborhood. Thanks to her revenues, she plans to improve the life conditions of her family and help provide for everyday needs.
