A loan of $175 helped purchase sheep wool.

Gloria's story

Gloria is 40 years old. She lives with her husband and father of her seven children. Two of her children passed away and she lives with her five remaining children. Both Gloria and her husband are farmers and during their time together they have grown potatoes in temporary land. During the winter months they begin preparing the soil by plowing which costs them about 100 soles for each ranch. After sowing, she buys and sells red meats every Saturday. The rest of the week she makes crafts. Gloria is in charge of spinning sheep wool depending on the thickness required by what her husband will weave, bet it a blanket or a shawl. Gloria and her husband have been working on their loom for more than 17 years. They pay more attention to this work while their crops are developing but during times of harvest their work is in the selection and sale of their potatoes. This is the time she likes best because she accumulates the income that allows her to cover the costs of educationg her children.

Gloria is very happy with the work of her community bank. This is her second loan with MFP and she has been punctual in making her payments on the dates scheduled by her advisor. The loan she is requesting will be used to purchase sheep wool as well as fertilizers for her potato crops.
