A loan of $800 helped to increase her daughter's beauty salon capital.

Sarith's story

D., 40, is a villager living in Banteay Meanchey Province, Cambodia, where she has established a small family, living in a medium-size wooden house, since 1979. She is a good homemaker who cooks delicious foods and cares for the children. She is married with four children: two are married and live away from the family home and the others are single. One among the single ones has been running a beauty salon service to the whole district for several years.

D. is married to BunThoeun, 47, who is a local chef for wedding parties in the village. D. is applying for a $800 loan to increase her daughter's capital for buying necessary things for her salon. (D.'s husband is pictured because she was not available the day the photograph was taken.)
