Maria Antonia's story

Maria Antonia L. A. is a member of the “Unión 28 de Julio” Communal Bank in the Pacific neighborhood of the Yunguyo district, in the province of Yunguyo, in the Puno area. She is 22-years-old, lives with her partner, has 2 children and has completed her secondary education. She has worked with Movimiento Manuela Ramos for 4 years, selling metal handicrafts. Her first loan was for 300 nuevos soles, a sum that she invested in the purchase of materials (tin) in order to make her products (miniature cars) for the traditional fairs of the region. She is requesting a loan of 2000 nuevos soles and has agreed to repay it in 3 monthly payments. She will invest the money in the purchase of materials (paint, tin, glass, curtains, pewter, polish, etc.) in order to make her crafts (little houses and miniature cars) and sell them at the traditional fairs throughout Peru. Her dream is to buy a house and see her children get an education and become professionals.
