Facunda's story

Mrs. Facunda A. P. is a member of the "El Comercio" Community Bank in the district or Desaguadero, Chucuito Province, in the zone of Puno. She is 36 years of age, married, and has four children under her care. She has finished her primary school studies.
She has worked with the Manuela Ramos Movement for 10 years. She works buying animals to fatten and to sell later and also sells fruit according to what is in season. Her first loan was for 500.00 nuevos soles, which allowed her to purchase more animals to resell in the fairs of Zepita.
She currently wants to keep working with her little community bank, since it is going well for her business. She needs a new loan of 3,000.00 nuevos soles, which she will repay in 3 installments. The loan will be used to buy sheep and pigs to continue in her business of fattening livestock and selling them in the livestock fairs in Zepita. She will also continue to invest in her fruit business according to the season. Her desire is to buy herself her own home in Desaguadero and to support the education of her children until they are professionals.
