Floria's story

Floria P. B. belongs to the Nuevo Eden community bank in Yarinacocha. She is 59 years old and has 9 children. Her partner is a day laborer. Her first loan, for S/.300 new soles, was used to start a business making and selling food. She now has a stall in the food section of the Yarinacocha market with many good customers. With this S/.1,300 new-soles loan, she plans to set up a new business. She will buy wholesales supplies of tableware and supplies such as meat that she uses to make the food dishes she sells. She says that she likes the way that Manuela Ramos works and, as someone who started the Nuevo Eden community bank, she's happy to have helped her friends and neighbors and feels a commitment to them.
