Maria's story

Maria L., 73, is married with three children. She has two years of experience in the shop business. She sells to the villagers and the public seven days per week. She has had three previous loans with SPBD, Kiva's partner.

She expects her weekly net cash flow to be 360 Tala ($150). SPBD loans are Maria’s only access to capital because she was never able to qualify for a loan from traditional banks. She has working kids who help out with the family needs and back up the business.
