A loan of $2,800 helped to pay for a storefront sign and other working capital that will allow her to improve the storefront appearance of her business.

Yolanda's story

Yolanda has been in business for the past nine months. She is originally from Barbados and is the proud owner of Dress With Confidence Boutique, a clothing and jewelry store that offers custom design dresses and alterations in the neighborhood of Hyde Park.

Before opening her business, Yolanda went to school for accounting and worked as an accountant for years after. Designing has always been Yolanda's passion. She has many years of experience in designing Caribbean style garments as a hobby. Although she now works long hours running her business, she is happy to be pursuing her dream.

Yolanda’s greatest success in running her business has been the ability to attract a wide variety of clients. Her largest difficulty, however, has been not being able to get access to the capital required to invest in working capital needs for her business. She is currently seeking a loan to pay for a storefront sign and for additional working capital to improve the storefront of her business.

Her vision for the future is to be able to one day manufacture all products she sells at her store.
