Abdurahim's story

Abdurahim is a 30 year old man, he is married and raises two children. Ten years ago he became and apprentice to a baker learning how to make national Tajik flatbreads. Gradually he became good at this craft and decided to start his own business. To make his idea possible he had to move a hundred kilometers away from his home in Khudjanda to Isfara. In the beginning his business was small and brought little profits. But gradually he has acquired regular customers who bought his flatbreads and resold on local markets. Later his older brother joined his business who also helped with baking the breads and Abdurahim went into distribution. Today Abdurahim produces 600 flatbreads a day which he distributes among four stores and a market. During these ten years has not only developed his business, but also married, bought a new house and furnished it. Abdurahim also created three jobs and plans to hire another employee for delivery of the breads to other markets. When he heard about MicroInvest Adburahim decided to apply for a loan to buy flour and coal for his bakery.
