A loan of $450 helped to buy more palm nut fruit.

Susana's story

Susana F. is 27 years old. She is married and the mother of two children. All of her children are in school and are doing very well. She has been trading in the community of Wasa Simpa in the western region of Ghana where she lives with her family.

She has been a local manufacturer of palm oil for four years. She has been doing this business with her husband. Palm oil is produced from palm nut fruits. She produces and supplies palm oil to food vendors to prepare their meals and she even treks to the villages to purchase the finished goods when demand becomes very high. She and her husband also travel to the big cities for supplies.

She wants to use the loan to buy more palm nut fruits and an electric milling machine to increase her efficiency and allow her to produce in larger quantities. She believes this will help expand her business and to raise more income so she can help her husband to provide food for her family and finance her children's education.

Susana belongs to a village bank called "Luke." She hopes to receive GH¢600 to improve her business by restocking her inventory.
