Carmela's story

Carmela is 45 years old, lives with her partner and her daughter who is a single mother; they live together in their own home. Carmela is a multifaceted worker because she sells groceries, cold beverages, condiments at retail and makes items of clothing, which she has been doing for 6 years. But she doesn’t work alone in her business, her partner and daughter are in charge of delivering the products that she sells to her customers in a market near their home. What Carmela likes is the diversity of the jobs that she has because they make her feel useful, in addition profitable as she has daily income. She has plans to continue working and then wants to open a minimarket where she can offer a great variety of products and in this way satisfy all her customer’s needs. She has had 6 loans with MFP and has been very punctual with her payments; in addition she likes to work with the communal bank and has made very good friends there. Carmela wants to buy groceries which will cost 500 soles, in addition to fabric to make clothing that will cost another 500 soles and the remaining she will invest in repairing her home.
