A loan of $200 helped increase merchandise.

Elizabhet's story

Elizabhet is 37 years old and lives with her husband and 2 children. She operates a grocery store that she set up in her home 10 years ago. She began this business to increase their income. In the beginning, retail sales to her neighbors were by the kilo, but now her store has a greater assortment for her customers to buy. She also raises animals, and very early each day she fetches fodder for their diet so that she can then dedicate the morning to her store. In the afternoons she helps tend the fields they cultivate. Elizabhet is projecting increased profits because of her commitment to work hard for the continued growth of her grocery business. This is the third time that she has had a loan with MFP. She previously withdrew from the communal bank for personal reasons, but because of her excellent references, her companions have once again invited her to participate on their team. Elizabhet is requesting these funds to invest in the purchase of merchandise: 400 soles for 2 sacks of groceries and 200 soles to buy a hog she will raise and later sell.
