A loan of $625 helped buy fertilizers.

Raúl's story

Raúl is 40 years old, married for 16 years, and is the father of 7 children, 5 of whom are still at home. Farming is part of the good habits he inherited from his parents, he has always tried to grow a large quantity of peas and beans, even though these in smaller quantity products smaller profits. Raúl was able to rent farms where they previously grew potatoes, and this facilitated growing peas, as from one sack of pea seeds he can harvest 50-60 sacks, and this he does at the most 3 times on the same farmland. But not all is well, as Raúl has been threatened by various plagues on his fields because of excessive rain, and also frost (in this cold climate), knowing that if a pestilence attacks his crops, he can use fungicides and pesticides, but with the frost there isn’t a way to save his crops. Raúl is very happy with his pea crops, despite the difficulties that he has, the prices support him continuing to grow this crop as they are very profitable for him. He is secretary of his communal bank; at each of the meetings he is in charge of recording all the agreements. This is his 2nd loan with MFP, and all this time he has been punctual with his payments. The money he seeks is to buy fertilizer for his next pea planting and with the sales of his peas buy seeds. Raúl tells us he is happy to be given a loan as it enables him to continue working.
