A loan of $625 helped to increase her merchandise.

Jessica's story

Jessica is 23 years old and lives in her parents' house with her husband and son, but they hope to acquire their own house soon. The desire to advance motivates her to continue working, and for 2 years she has sold clothing every day in different parts of her area. She leaves very early in the morning to sell her merchandise in the markets or leave some garments in her friends' stalls, who kindly lend her a hand, which helps a lot. Jessica is very happy because her sales are improving thanks to the summertime. Since there is greater demand, she tries to take advantage of it by bringing summer clothes that she leaves with her best clients, who pay her every day. This practice is not very tiring because she can set her own schedule. The disadvantage is that she doesn't have a fixed income in her home and so the earnings that she can obtain each day are relative. Because of that, Jessica hopes to soon have a stand where she can display her products. She has worked with MFP for 5 years, and this is her eighth loan with the institution, which helped her not only to have economic support, but also to give her the chance to get to know the group members. She will invest the money requested in the purchase of merchandise, basically to take advantage of the school year (March-April) and increase her income.
