A loan of $1,675 helped to purchase supplies for their farm.

Hta Ni Pat Village Group 1 C's story

Tin (pictured right), the featured borrower, is 49 years old and married with five children. Two of the children help out with the duck business while the others are in primary school. Tin owns a farming business and raises livestock.

Proximity's loan will help the family purchase supplies for their farm. If Tin has enough money, he wants to open a third business to raise fish, which is becoming a popular business trend in this region. Similar to other parents, he wants his children to be well-educated.

A CBO leader oversees the group of eight. The CBO leader and group members are pictured above, named Myint, Hla, Aung and Win. The fund will help all the members to purchase fertilizer and rice.

Hta Ni Pat Village is located in Ayeyarwaddy Delta Region in Myanmar. Most families focus on crop farming and raising livestock. They also plant seasonal foods such as coconuts and betel leaves for additional income.
