Lydia's story

Mrs. Lydia T. specializes in the production and selling of kunu. Kunu is a local drink made from guinea corn and is acceptable in all parts of Abuja.
It is cheap and therefore affordable to the rich and poor. Mrs. Lydia has been in the business for over a year and has enjoyed being a member of the Miracle Group.

Mrs. Lydia is married to Mr. T. who is a civil servant and they have one child. Her desire is to live an economically productive life without depending on her husband for every need of the family. She has not completed secondary school, but still contributes greatly to her family. Through making and selling of "kunu" she is able to generate $5.50 a day. This helps to offset in paying some of the bills like feeding, medical, etc.

Mrs. Lydia intends to increase production and provide kunu to other shops. She also intends to supply offices during their break periods. The demand is high because of the warmer weather and her quality.

Mrs. Lydia is part of the Miracle Cooperative group. The group has 11 members and will distribute the loan according to their business plan.
