A loan helped buy sand and flooring.

Carmén's story

Carmen, age 54, lives in the community of Sololá along with her husband. They have raised eight children, some of whom are grown with their own families now.

Carmen is entirely dedicated to her family. She is committed to helping her husband earn money and contribute to the household expenses, getting her family ahead. Since she was little, Carmen worked alongside her mother, learning her trade so that she could support her family. Today, she does domestic work in the neighboring areas around her home.

For several years, they have owned their home, but Carmen's goal is to get a loan so that she can help her husband remodel the house, buying sand and flooring material to provide their children with a more dignified place to live. Carmen's biggest dream is to own a home in better condition.
