The ’banc villageois’ was created on May 9, 2001. This group is composed of eight members, all women, who pay pay back their loans on time. They all work in commerce. Ms. Fatou, appearing at the right with a hand raised, is the group's representative. She is a widow, 50 years old, and the mother of five children, including three girls. Ms. Fatou has been active in selling palm oil and limes for over six year. With the loan requested, she is going to purchase several containers of palm oil and some limes. She is very energetic and talented. As a widow, she supports her entire family. The profits will be used to cover family expenses (food, healthcare, education, and clothing).
