A loan of $1,100 helped a member to buy flour, oil and millet.

Boucotte Centre Group's story

This banc villageois has been launched on July 11, 2002. This group is composed of two women, both of whom work as vendors. They show solidarity and help each other, taking out loans and repaying them on time. Ms. Montang, the one on the right raising her hand, is the group's representative. She is a widow, 61 years old, and the mother of six: three daughters and three sons. She has been selling fritters and miscellaneous items for over 15 years.

With this new loan she will buy three bags of flour, 20 liters [5 gallons] of oil, three bags of millet and miscellaneous products. She is not the only one offering these goods for sale, but she has a good customer base. Thanks to her revenues, she plans to buy a bed and a closet as well as contribute to everyday household expenses.

In this group: Montang, Tida
