A loan helped to purchase a dairy cow for her milk-selling business.

Najima's story

Najima is a 26-year-old humble and hardworking woman from Falakata, India. Her family is comprised of her husband and two children (one son and one daughter). Both of them are preschoolers. They live in their small kachha house (made of mud, straw and bamboo). Her husband is engaged with a centering business.

Najima’s husband's income is inconsistent. So to provide a better living, Najima has been engaged in cattle breeding for the last few years. She started her business with the purchase of one cow. She supplies milk to her neighbors and earns income for her family. Now this business is a strong financial support to the family. As the prices of essential goods are increasing by leaps and bounds, she has to work hard so that she can be able to generate more income. She has decided to purchase one more cow and expand her business.

For this reason she is seeking a loan from BJS (Kiva’s partner) to purchase a dairy cow in terms of getting more milk for sale. This will enable her to provide good education to her children and she will be able to fulfill her future dream of making a concrete house for them.

She thanks her lenders.
