Flor De Maria's story

Flor de María is single and has worked a the Jacinto Hernández Hospital in Nueva Guinea for the past 25 years as a nursing assistant. She has two grown-up children who, even though she's not their economic provider, live with her in her home and help with household expenses. She is mother and father to her children and taught them how to work and study so they would be good people. Her eldest daughter is 28 years old and works as a credit analyst in Curacao, and her youngest son is a teacher. Flor is requesting her seventh loan through Kiva partner AFODENIC to invest in painting her home and reflooring her kitchen. She is a woman well-liked in Nueva Guinea and at work she is known as a person of clean living, responsible, hard-working and sociable in her community. Her dream is to improve her home, come to know her future grandchildren, be healthy and for her family to always stay united.
