Esmerita's story

Esmerita is 46 years old. She is separated and has three children who are adults and have careers, their own families and are independent of her. Esmerita sells food such as empanadas (meat pies), marineras (seafood), milanesas (breaded beef), croquettes and all types of fast foods.

Esmerita has been in this business for more than three years; her store is located in the downtown area of the city where she feeds 30 customers a day because her food is the most delicious in the neighbourhood.

Esmerita pays for her household expenses with the income from her business, in addition to which her children give her money monthly to pay for her expenses.

Esmerita says that she has plenty of sales. Because of this she would like to buy more merchandise such as fruits, vegetables, meats, rice, oil, sugar and so on to meet the demands of her existing customers and attract more clients.
