A loan helped to buy corn and firewood and to set up a small store.

María Orbelina's story

María is 48 years old and has a second-grade education. She is single and has two children, ages 21 and nineteen. She has been working selling tortillas for 25 years. She learned the business because she needed to make an income. Her business grew little by little and now she also has a small mill where she grinds her corn and a tortilla stall set up in her home.

María needs this loan to buy 4,000 lbs of corn and four truckloads of dry firewood. She will also set up a small store. Her dream is to leave her children a plot of land where they could build their homes.
