Noah's story

Noah O. is fifty-one years old, married and has five children, two of whom are boys and three girls. He says currently, one of them is in the senior high school, another in the junior high school, while the rest are in the primary school. His wife is a trader as well as a farmer. He lives with his family in a rented house at Simpa. Simpa is a small farming community which is a few kilometers from Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana. Most of the inhabitants combine farming with other economic activities.

Noah is a fitting mechanic by profession. He repairs damaged vehicles in his community. He owns a workshop in which he works. Noah also sells car spare parts in his shop to customers. He wants a loan to buy more spare parts such as driving mirrors, wind screens, head lights, hoods, etc. According to him, he has trained a number of apprentices who have graduated and are running their own shops. Noah has been in business for over twenty years. Noah desires to help his children climb the academic ladder to higher levels.
