Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $5,875 helped to make repairs on his truck.

Manolvi's story

Manolvi is a first generation American, having come here with his family when he was 11 years old. After graduating from Perth Amboy High School in Perth Amboy, NJ, he immediately went off on his own and began working for his current employer, Pro Tapes, in 2005.

In 2010, he added a second full-time job as a truck driver. He recently came upon an opportunity to go off on his own, and with encouragement and support from his girlfriend Jessica (pictured with him above), he started his own trucking company in February of this year.

Manolvi, who still holds two full-time jobs while starting his own business, works very hard, and incidentally so does his truck. He is requesting this loan to help him make much needed repairs so he can continue to grow his trucking company.
