A loan of $250 helped purchase of materials for making decorations.

Patricia's story

Patricia is 29 years old and lives with her six-year-old daughter Camila in the house she owns. She wants to provide the best for her daughter and, to do so, she is willing to work non-stop. Her job is a lot of fun. She makes decorative figures from plastic sheeting. She learned this craft from her mother and now dedicates herself to it full-time. She sells her products in primary and early education centers, and to mothers who want something nice for their children's rooms. Patricia has been involved in this business for five years. She really enjoys assembling the requested figures and can spend days finishing them. The thing she likes least about her job is cleaning up the pieces that fall on the floor, as she must keep her workspace clean. Her greatest wish is to have a shop where she can sell her handicrafts -- she currently sells them door-to-door and by request. She works hard to provide her daughter with a good education. This is Patricia's first loan with [kiva.org partner] Microfinanzas Prisma (MFP), and she is ready to make her payments on time. She is an active member of her community bank and very supportive of the other female members. Patricia will invest the requested loan in the purchase of more materials for making her figures from plastic sheeting and, in doing so, sell to more clients.
