A loan of $1,000 helped to expand her gardening and purchase farm inputs like seeds and fertilizers.

Dorren's story

Dorren lives in the Chiredzi District of Zimbabwe. She is 27 years old and married with one child. She is actively involved in Camfed’s Mother Support Groups which assists orphans and vulnerable children in the community. With the $500 she got from Kiva, Dorren purchased goods such as shirts, t-shirts, bags, solar panels, trousers, skirts, baby clothes, and blankets to the community.

Using the second loan she intends to further expand her business into gardening and then she will open her own store for selling her farm products and clothes. Using the profits from her business Doreen hopes to pay for education for her child as well as meeting her family’s basic needs.
