A loan of $3,500 helped a member working capital.

Las Tequileras Group's story

The "Las Tequileras" group, represented by Mrs. Luisa Maria, has 19 members, some of whom are related. Luz Gabriela and Moyra are sisters, and Virginia and Iris are mother and daughter. Irrespective, these women live in different houses and their incomes are entirely separate from each other's. The group's members dedicate themselves to a variety of small businesses. Some sell things like electrical appliances, groceries, clothing, books, cosmetics and snacks; some make garments and crafts; and one runs a small veterinary clinic. Their collective knowledge and experience in their respective markets gives them confidence that they will be able to confront adversity and come out ahead. The loan will be used to buy tools, ingredients and primary materials, so that the group members can expand their businesses and increase their incomes in order to be able to offer their children better educations and a better quality of life. The majority of the group's members have experience with communal banking and know how to manage loan repayments responsibly and honestly, and how to take full advantage of this opportunity offered by the Agrocapital Foundation for a better life.
