A loan of $925 helped to buy toilet paper in packets, rice, suger in sacks, various vegetables, and pay for the maintenance of her Internet cafe.


Cadith's story

Ms. Cadith belongs to the communal bank "Honesty and Work", an affiliate of Kiva. She lives in the neighborhood of Grau Nº 160, in the province of Juanjui, and the department of San Martin. She is 39 years old and is a mother of 3 children. One of children is of legal age, and two still depend on her. Her spouse works selling wood. With the first loan she recieved of $300, she decided to invest in delicacies, which she sold from her house. She has been working with the bank for seven years. With this loan of 3000 nuevos soles that will be repaid in six months, she will buy toilet paper in packages, rice, sugar in bags, some vegetables, and additionally a part will pay the maintenance for her computers. At the present she depends on a small grocery store and Internet cafe for her daily income, with which she repays her loan payments promptly. Cadith is very thankful for the communal bank for the support that she receives and that has permitted her business to grow.
