A loan of $925 helped to purchase supplies to prepare the daily menu.

Felicia's story

Felicia is 56 years old and has lived with her partner for 22 years. She is the mother of 6 children and at present they live in their own house. Years ago she worked in the fields with her husband, but once she had several children they decided she should remain at home to care for them. It was at this point she decided to begin a food sale business, taking advantage of her ability to prepare deliciously seasoned food. Her business is becoming very profitable since she is gaining more customers. To have breakfast ready, she wakes at 4:00a.m., begins by cleaning her establishment, and then prepares breakfast for her customers who are mostly farm workers. Around 7:00 a.m. she serves breakfast and while her customers eat, she packs the lunches they will consume at the farms where they work. Although it is tiring to get up so early, Felicia is happy to do so because it allows her to cover her children’s basic expenses while her husband continues to work in agriculture. Felicia has just been sworn in as fiscal officer of her communal bank, and she is grateful for the confidence placed in her by the other members. This is her 5th loan and she promises to be responsible in making payments to MFP. The funds requested will be used to purchase supplies to prepare the daily menu.
