Teresa is a member of the “03 de Mayo” Communal Bank, in the Ilave district, province of El Collao, in the Puno area. She is 30 years old and has a common law marriage. She has 3 children and completed her secondary school studies. She has worked with the Movimiento Manuela Ramos for 8 years. She buys and sells wholesale footwear, meat and groceries. Her first loan was for 300 nuevos soles, with which she acquired merchandise for her business (groceries such as sugar, rice, etc.). With this loan of 1500 nuevos soles, she agrees to commit to paying in 5 monthly payments. She will be able to expand her grocery store and acquire more merchandise, since her dream is to have a distribution shop in the future with diverse products; likewise, she wants her children to become professionals, and for that she has been saving her earnings.
