A loan helped to build a latrine.

Sinath's story

Sinath, 41, lives in a community of Kompong Cham Province, Cambodia. She is a lovely mother of four children.

To make a living and support her family, she manages and operates a farming business on a small plot of rice farmland, which is located near her house. So far, she has been in this type of business for around twenty years. On average, she is able to make an income of USD 5.00 a day.

She wants to improve the general living conditions of the entire family by having a latrine to use because there is no latrine in her house now. Therefore, she is borrowing a loan from Kiva to build a latrine. By doing this, she can help her family members gain access to sanitation, promote their health, and help to lessen environmental deterioration.

She is thankful for the loan granted through HKL with a much lower interest rate than other general loan products.
