A loan of $1,075 helped to buy used clothes to increase her business inventory.

Adyamaa's story

Adyamaa Y. has been taking loans from XacBank, Kiva's partner micro-finance institution in Mongolia, for four years. She is married with three children. To help her husband to feed the children, she engages in retail business at the "Narantuul" market, the biggest Mongolian outdoor market, which operates in all four seasons. In the winter, it's very challenging to operate her business as temperatures routinely fall below -20 degrees Celsius.

Adyamaa's business is selling used clothes. She buys used clothes by the kilogram, imported from South Korea. A couple of years ago, she leased a car through XacBank for use in her business. From the previous loan profit, she fixed her house, a traditional Mongolian "ger" (form of nomadic housing). Adyamaa is a hard-working person. She plans to use her Kiva loan to buy more clothing to sell.
