Mónica Lizbeth's story

Monica Lizbeth is a member of the Banco Comunal (Communal Bank) Vecinas Unidas, located on Jr. Los Céticos N° 651 – San Fernando in the Mantanay district. She is 39, has four children and is sells products throughout the region.
She wakes up very early in the morning, at 4 a.m., to go with her husband to the inland port in Pucalipa to buy bananas, fish, fruits and meat.
The first loan she received was for S/. 300 Nuevos Soles, with which she bought 30 bunches of bananas, fresh fish, and one bundle of salted fish to sell in the same inland port.
With her savings and her earnings, she bought a motokar in order to transport and sell her goods from one side of the city to another.
With this new S/. 1,300 Nuevos Soles loan, she will purchase replacement parts for her motokar, paint it and upholster the seats so that it can continue to be of service.
She is grateful to Manuela Ramos for the great support she provided during her family crisis.
