A loan of $700 helped to buy beer, rice, and oil.

Gloria's story

Gloria is a member of the San Judas Tadeo Communal Bank. She is 65 years old, married, and has 10 children who are all married. She came to Lima forty years ago from Piura. In Piura she had a restaurant with her family. When she arrived in Lima she began selling clothing and dedicated her time to her family. Three years ago she started a restaurant in her home selling Creole food. Three of her daughters help her. Each day fifteen diners come to the restaurant. She needs a loan of 2,000 soles ($700 USD) to buy beer, rice, and oil. Since she has been a part of Finca she has felt that it has been helpful because they explain to the members how they should work at their businesses and teach them how to make their payments. Gloria really wants to keep working, and her dream is to see her children prosper.
