Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $1,200 helped to buy generic pharmaceuticals and also to rent a store.

Nadou's story

Nadou L. is a traveling saleswoman of generic pharmaceutical products in Lomé, the Togolese capital. She is 42 years old, married, and the mother of four children, who are all in school. She would like to use this loan to expand her business capacity by renting a store and stocking it, so as to respond better to customer demands. This will enable her to increase her sales and to earn more in order to provide for her family better.
