Aidee's story

Aidee is 36 years old and mother of three children, aged 10, 7 and 6. She owns her own home, where she lives with her partner of 12 years. Aidee works selling groceries and food in a kiosk near her house, and she always tries to keep it well stocked and to provide good service to her clients. She begins work at 6 in the morning, selling bread until 9, when she begins to prepare the menu she will offer at lunchtime. Although the space in which she cooks is very uncomfortable, Aidee continues because she really enjoys her work. She serves clients into the night, even staying until 10 pm if customers continue coming.

She would like to build her home in the same location as her kiosk, because it is a great location for sales, with many people passing by. This would mean her children wouldn't need to stay up late and she would be more comfortable while preparing food. Aidee is a very active member of her village bank, in the last cycle she was in charge of the fiscal department, ensuring there were no problems with members. This is her fifth loan with Kiva partner MFP, and in this time she has shown that she is able to pay her quotas very responsibly. The money she is requesting is to increase the merchandise available in her kiosk, in order to earn more money for her business.
