A loan of $325 helped purchase of clothing and shoes.

Violeta's story

Violeta belongs to “Los Eucaliptos” (“Eucalyptus”) Community Bank and lives in the Tarapoto district of San Martín. She is 27 years old, married, and the mother of two children. Her husband is a teacher and is very helpful at home. Violeta has just re-enrolled in the bank after a time away.

Violeta has a small grocery store located in her home, where she sells staple items as well as soft drinks, sweets, etc. She earns enough from her shop to guarantee the punctual repayment of her loan.

She is currently requesting a loan of 1,000 Peruvian nuevos soles (US $325), to be repaid in six months. Violeta will use the loan to purchase many styles and sizes of clothing and shoes so that she can meet the needs of her discerning clientele.

Violeta is very happy with the support the bank offers to all women who want to work and get ahead.
