A loan of $625 helped to purchase materials needed to construct a second level in their home where she will run a hostel. Along with the restaurant she runs from her house now, the hostel will help generate needed income.

Maura's story

Maura is a member of the communal bank called Las Brisas. She lives on Olmedo Cardenas, in the district of Bellavista in San Martin. She is 48 years old and the mother of 5 children. 4 of her children are grown up now, and one is still dependent on Maura. Maura's husband helps her in the small restaurant they run from their house. She has been working with bank for 8 years. With her first loan, she set up the restaurant.

Today her restaurant is well established and each day she serves meals to local residents and visitors to the city. The business brings in good income to pay the loans back on time. With the new loan, which will be repaid in 6 months, she will purchase materials needed to construct another level in their house, where she plans to set up a hostel which will help increase their income over time.

Maura is very content with the support she receives from the bank. It allows her to plan enthusiastically for the future.
