A loan helped to purchase water purifiers to sell to the sub-urban population of Cikarang.

Titin's story

This is the fourth loan to Titin a mother of five and safe drinking water entrepreneur. She repaid her previous loan before it was due. She applies for a new loan to provide inventory to her sub-agents so she can provide water filters in a larger area.

Titin lives in Cikarang, which is a suburban area of the greater Jakarta agglomeration of over 28 million people. In this area nobody has potable water from their taps. Many people use well water which is often very dirty. To get safe drinking water people have to buy water which is very expensive.

That is why Titin started to sell Nazava Water Filters and so far with great success. “Kiva loans are a key factor for the success of my business”, says Titin

The Kiva loan allows Titin to save on shipping costs, enables her to expand more quickly and will therefore provide more people with safe and affordable drinking water. With this loan she can buy around 200 drinking water filters and 20 filters that can turn dirty water in to clear water. Titin will then sell this filters to her consumers, providing safe drinking water to 1000 people and clear water for washing purposes to 100 people.
