Yolina Lourdes

A loan of $175 helped to buy more livestock (pigs and sheep) and to be able to fatten them for the carnival holidays, a season when there is a greater demand for meat in the region. With the earnings, she will be able to help support her household and to buy a car to gather and move her livestock from place to place.

Yolina Lourdes's story

Señora Yolina is a member of the community bank "Las estrellitas Unidas del Titicaca” in Chipana, district of Pilcuyo, Province of El Collao, in the department of Puno. She is 21 years of age, lives with her partner, has one son, and has completed high school.

She has worked with the Manuela Ramos Movement for a short time. She buys and sells small animals (pigs and sheep). Her first loan of S/ 300.00 nuevos soles was used to buy two pairs of pigs to fatten and sell in the livestock fairs in Pilcuyo.

With this loan of S/ 500.00 nuevos soles ($175) that she commits to repay in 5 monthly payments, she will be able to buy more livestock (pigs and sheep) and will be able to fatten them for the carnival holidays, a season when there is a greater demand for meat in the region. With these earnings she will be able to help to support her household and, in the future, will be able to buy a car for the gathering and moving of her livestock from place to place.
