Augustina's story

For the past five years, Augustina has been a petty trader in the local market of Bawalashie community, a suburb of Accra in Ghana. She is a forty-year-old woman, married, with four kids who are schooling. She lives with her family in the same community in a rented apartment. She is a busy petty trader who sells cassava, charcoal, tinned tomatoes, yams, maize, etc. on top of a table in the local market.

Augustina loves being a merchant, the business through which she earns a living for her family. She does not have sufficient working capital to run the business. With the loan, she wants to inject more working capital into the business to scale up business progress. She believes the loan will enable her to purchase good quality stock to upgrade her inventory.
