A loan of $750 helped 2,400 soles to buy sacks of lemons from the north.

Silvia Rosario's story

First loan:

Silvia is married, 25 years old, has a 3 year old son who is in pre-school.

When she was 12 years old, she started selling the bottled drink "chicha" in the market while her mother was selling vegetables. After she started working as a home employee, she did not like to earn such a low wage and so she started selling in the market again. Now she sells lemons from the North. She brings 30 sacks weekly. She distributes them in the markets with her husband. Also, she sells orange juice in the afternoons at the corner of her house.

Since she has been with FINCA, she has had her own business, learned to save, and has been responsible with the loans that she has received by making her payment on time in order to avoid default.

Silvia needs a loan of 2,400 soles to buy sacks of lemons from the North. Her dream is to finish high school and open a restaurant or juice bar.
