A loan of $600 helped to purchase supplies, such as wire and stones.

Rosario Consuelo's story

Rosario dedicated herself to her work at a cardboard box factory for nearly ten years. When she married her husband, they became involved in a small business making handcrafted items such as bracelets and necklaces for women.

Little by little, they perfected their jewelry-making techniques, and also growing the number of orders they received. Currently, they need the help of two young assistants to be able to keep their supplies up and fill orders.

Regretfully, Rosario and her husband can’t have children. This has led them to invest all their effort and hard work into growing their business and improving their standard of living. Within a couple of years, they would like to formalize their enterprise and export their products outside the country without needing an intermediary as they do now. This would help them to increase their earnings.
