Mary's story

Mary K. is 47 years old and is divorced with five kids. Three are currently are in school and the older ones among them are married. She lives in a family house at Abofour in the Ashanti region of Ghana. Mary is going through thick and thin in struggling to take care of her family. She is supportive, determined and above all very hardworking.

Mary is a petty trader who trades in bags of maize. Her kids are very proud of her because of the enormous contribution she makes to the home. Selling maize has enabled her to rent accommodations for her family. She wants to use the loan to purchase more bags of maize to increase her inventory. She believes this loan would help her save for her children's education. She would be grateful for your assistance. Mary belongs to a village bank called ‘Asedaben’ which means Thanksgiving.
