Proeung R., 50, is a weaver who lives with her husband in Bati district, Takeo province. She typically makes $2 of profit per day, while her husband is a construction foreman in the village, making about $5 each day. The couple has four children, two who are in school and two others who are construction workers. Mrs. Proeung is requesting a loan to purchase more silk to expand her weaving business.
