Yon's story

Mrs. Yon O. is 44 years old and is the mother of six children: one is employed in a garment factory, another four are attending the local school, and the youngest is too young to work or study.

Mrs. Yon O. lives in Ksom village in the Kandal province with her husband, Mr. Huon Phal pictured on the right in the photo. He is a motor taxi driver.

Mrs. Yon O. is a farmer and owns a piece of land to cultivate rice. On this plantation, she makes very little and does not have enough money to grow rice. She is asking for a loan for plowing, to buy fertilizer and pesticides, and to hire laborers to work in the field.
