A loan of $400 helped purchase clothes to sell.

Carmen's story

In spite of being a very young woman, Carmen has done a lot in her life to make a progress in life. She worked at a cleaning service company for three years at a recreation center nearby her home. After saving enough money to rent her own place, she decided to open her own business. She quit her job at the center and stated to work on her new bar.

Even though the business was doing well, she had to close it after a while, as she didn’t have anybody to take care of her small children, one of then a new borne back then. She didn’t have any other choice but to start working from home.

Today, and for the last five years, she’s been selling sodas and beer in the afternoon. Starting this year, she diversified her business starting selling clothes. In the mornings, she helps at a community dinner supported by the government.

Her plans include building her house out of concrete and to diversify her business even further.
