Nhem K., 35, is married and lives with her young child in Siem Reap, Cambodia. She purchase bananas from individual growera and resells them to the market wholesaler. On average, she makes US $4 a day, while her husband grows and sells rice, earning US $3 a day. Nhem is asking for a loan to rent a banana farm and purchase farmland to expand her husband's rice crops.
